Advert description
For sale is our much loved Land Rover Discovery which has been specced out for adventure. When the notoriously unreliable air suspension gave out I replaced it with coil springs (Terrafirma/ Dunlop set with 2" lift) which was one of the best add ons. No more worries about that horrible sinking feeling….!They are super durable and can pretty much handle anything that you can throw at it whilst having impeccable road manners. I might add that we have not done any serious off roading but Youtube has plenty of videos showing how capable the Disco 3 with coil springs is. The car happily cruises at 80 mph on the motorway in total luxury (even when fully loaded with 4 people, roof top tent, bikes etc.). It has taken us around Europe (including to Corsica and back) and on many camping trips. It is a true Swiss army penknife of a car. When not full of people and camping gear the seats fold flat (you can't do that in a Defender!) to create a large space. We've picked up large three seater sofas and fitted them in (with the doors shut) and with the roof rack the car is even more capable. I have swapped the ugly and rust covered side steps with Terrafirma rock sliders which not only give the car a better look but are also a lot more sturdy in their construction. In addition to that I have swapped out the wheels for steel wheels and all terrain tyres. Included also in the sale is the rear ladder (also Terrafirma) that I did not install as it did not configure with how we had our roof top tent. The Terrafirma awning has a built in LED light. We will be very sad to see her go but the ever approaching ULEZ zone has tipped the balance. This brilliant car has given us as a family some incredible adventures and it is ready for so much more. Since we have owned the car it has been looked after by a local and highly respected Land Rover specialist. The transmission is strong and smooth and I believe all the major concerns about this model (including as previously mentioned the air suspension) have been addressed. The car is priced in accordance with its spec. The Terrafirma bits would set you back at least 3-4k and that doesn't include the installati…
