These boards are lightweight and have a huge amount of flex and much more grip then the aluminium boards.- We use them in mud, sand or snow. There's pretty much no surface they can't handle- I recommend everyone who drives a bit off the paved roads (even if you have a 2WD) to carry at least one pair. It's the ultimate recovery gear. People who go offroad frequently and mostly on their own should think about carrying 2 sets. With 2 sets of boards it's even easier to recover the vehicle because you can always put on pair of boards in front of the wheels or boards under both axles.
