2002 BMW X5 4.6is | 4.6L V8 | Automatic | 115,000 MilesRare and increasingly sought-after BMW X5 4.6is, featuring the legendary 4.6-litre V8 engine (M62B46). A proper performance SUV with plenty of power, a fantastic V8 soundtrack and the comfort you'd expect from an M Sport-era BMW.The car has covered 115,000 miles and has had various work carried out during my ownership. Was acquired as an interim vehicle while my daily needed work. I also have too many cars so I won't be accepting swaps. I will list some of the work carried out as far back as 2023. Unfortunately I only have a partial history but work carried out in the invoices I have including the work I've done totals over 13k. There are a few things that need attention in the near future like the gear selector switch and rear sub frame mounts. The gear selector switch is £160 on ebay and the sub frame mounts from what I've seen is an easy job. I did get the tool for the job but never got around to doing it. Mounts are £70 on ebay and the tool will go with the car. There is a removable tow hook and Liqui Moly diff oil with the car too. 15mm front and 25mm rear wheel spacers with correct length bolts. Rear seats are reclining and heated. PROS- Rare 4.6is model (4.6 NA V8) – 115,000 miles- Automatic gearbox / all wheel drive (reliable mechanical transfer case before xDrive in later models) – Powerful and enjoyable to drive- Comfortable interior and spacious boot- Excellent performance for its age- Increasingly rare model- Self leveling rear air suspensionCONS- Age-related wear and tear- Both front window regulators are on their way out- Rear subframe mounts need replacing (tool for this job will be included) – Will need alignment and 2 front tyres- Needs the Gear Selector Switch replacing or looked at. Intermittent gearbox failsafe mode when changing between P – D (£160 on ebay) switch off and on, fault clears and drives normal WORK CARRIED OUT (to name a few) – Timing chain, vanos, water pump (98400 miles / 2023)- Both front coolant hoses (2023)- Coolant bottle and sensor (2024) – Alloy coolant housing and coolant hoses at the rear of the engine (2026)- Alternator…
