2017 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque 2.0 eD4 SE Manual in black, selling as a non-runner / spares-or-repair project. Approx. 64,095 miles at last inspection. The vehicle has been off the road for a significant period but has been stored under cover during that time. It is currently stored at a secure facility near Beck Row / Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. Exact collection address will be provided to serious buyers by arrangement. I bought the vehicle in July 2022. A few months later it developed a knocking noise. At first, I believed this was likely to be a relatively minor front-end issue, such as a wheel bearing or driveshaft-related fault. The car was then taken off the road in practical terms while the issue was investigated. Further inspection by a Land Rover/Jaguar specialist identified more serious engine-related issues. The vehicle was later inspected by an independent automotive engineer. The known findings relate to the timing-chain / engine area and previous engine repair work, including: timing-chain wear/concerns; evidence of previous intrusive engine work; non-original sealant; coolant leakage; head gasket / engine block concerns; suspected damage linked to previous repair work. The matter led to a long-running dispute with the dealer who sold me the vehicle. That dispute has now been resolved. I have decided not to repair the car because we are relocating overseas and I need it gone rather than taking on a repair/recommissioning project. The vehicle will require substantial engine work. Realistically, this is likely to mean an engine rebuild, replacement engine, new engine or refurbished engine. I have not had the vehicle repaired and cannot confirm the final cost of repair however I have been quoted between £2,500 and £3,900 for an engine replacement. Any buyer should inspect the vehicle and satisfy themselves before purchase. Because the car has stood for several years, it may also need further recommissioning work in addition to the engine work.
