2015 Peugeot 208 GTi 200 – 1.6 THP 200bhp – 6-speed manual – 74,500 milesI am reluctantly selling my 2015 Peugeot 208 GTi 200 as spares or repair. The car is currently starting and driving, but has a number of mechanical issues which make repairing it uneconomical for me.This is the desirable GTi 200 model and is completely standard/unmodified. It has a very good interior, reasonable overall bodywork, two keys, a V5 in my name and MOT until June 2027.Mechanical issuesThe engine management light is currently illuminated and there are two fault codes relating to the intake camshaft dephaser.I have been advised that the car requires camshaft sealing rings behind the inlet camshaft sprocket and an intake control solenoid.The engine itself sounds completely normal and the car starts and drives normally. However, it will occasionally enter limp-home mode as a result of the engine warning light.There is also an oil leak/consumption issue. Oil is leaking from the plug at the front of the car and is being burned somewhere either within the engine or potentially through a turbo gasket. Two garages have suspected the turbo gasket as the possible source, but this has not been definitively diagnosed.The water pump is leaking coolant and will require attention.I am therefore selling the car as spares or repair and would strongly recommend that any prospective buyer carries out their own inspection before purchasing.I am not claiming that the engine requires replacement — I simply do not know the definitive cause of the oil consumption/smoke and am selling the car based on the information I have been given.Other known issuesDriver's heated seat does not work.Locking/alarm has an intermittent issue — if the car isn't locked correctly, the alarm can sound.Some alloy wheels have kerbing/scuffs and corrosion.Various scratches and scuffs to the bodywork.Multiple stone chips to the bonnet.No other warning lights currently showing.Car is currently untaxed.Recent/positive points74,000 milesMOT until June 2027Starts and drivesEngine sounds normalGTi 200 – 200bhp6-speed manualCompletely standard/unmodified2 keysV5 present and in my nameVery good interior4 new tyresAir conditioning regas…
